Widbrook Grange, home of resident owners Jane and Peter Wragg is an elegant yet homely and relaxing 250 year old Georgian country house hotel peacefully and safely set in 11 acres of grounds yet just a matter of minutes from Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge and 20 minutes from Bath and Longleat. We have a heated indoor swimming pool and gym, dining facilities in an informal Restaurant and Conservatory and a selection of lounges, one of which has Sky TV. We also have a secluded conference suite catering for between 2 and 25 delegates and free wireless broadband facilities throughout the hotel.

For its attentive yet unobtrusive hospitality Widbrook is a past winner of the RAC Little Gem Award. It has an atmosphere of warmth and informality with cosy lounges and a log fire burning on cold winter nights and peaceful gardens in which to relax on those long balmy summer evenings. The hotel especially welcomes families and has plenty of land for children to explore and play in safety without disturbing those adults who would prefer some peace and quiet. “Simply the best meal ever” writes Ben Payne food critic. Widbrook’s award winning Chef Phil Carroll and his young team prepare for you quintessential British Food from a Country House bygone era using fresh produce from our own garden and local farms complimented with bread and pastries baked daily on the premises. Lunch and dinner is served in the restaurant, conservatory and private dining room, all are informal and relaxed and the service friendly with a smile. For this we have been given an AA Rosette and a Michelin Recommendation. After the meal a selection of coffee and teas and home made shortbread is served in the cosy lounges. The Restaurant is also open to non-residents and because of its reputation locally it is often full. A table booking is recommended

The hotel has 20 en-suite spacious and tastefully decorated bedrooms located in the main house and in its courtyard and garden. They all have tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen freeview TV’s and direct dial telephones. CD players are also available. There are romantic four posters, family rooms and rooms with facilities for disabled guests. We have two family suites and several of the rooms are interconnecting.

Widbrook is peacefully located in an English country garden and within 11 acres of land. Walks directly from the hotel across farmland, where you can observe a variety of wildlife, lead to the Kennet and Avon canal with its picturesque narrow boats, past the 14th century tithe Barn and on to the centre of Bradford-on-Avon. The town grew from an Iron Age settlement 2500 years ago and is steeped in history. The hotel lies on the edge of the Cotswolds amidst rolling countryside. Stonehenge and Avebury are about 40 minutes drive and the National Trust village of Lacock with its Medieval Abbey is about 20.

We run a series of special breaks and promotions throughout the year; these represent great value for money and can be viewed in the “promotions” section on the Widbrook Grange website. All our rates include a Full English Breakfast and the use of our indoor pool and fitness room and we do not charge for babies and small children who use our cots. You can book with us directly online, by telephone, email, fax and letter and simple credit card details and contact telephone number is all that is required to confirm the booking. Unfortunately if the booking is cancelled within 48 hours before 11PM on the day of the visit, and we are unable to re-let the room, we do reserve the right to charge for it.
