Puddings Barn, the former dairy, PumpCottage, the former pump house, and Tickleberry, the old cow byres are set around a courtyard that was once the bustling farm yard.
Recently converted, the cottages provide you with luxurious living accommodation, exposed beams, fully integrated kitchens, private gardens and patios and panoramic views over rolling countryside. If all this sounds too relaxing, the shops and restaurants in Bath are just a 20 minute drive away.
All cottages have free WI-FI internet access, Freeview digital TV and DVD.
Tickleberry is a 3 bedroom barn conversion, sleeping 4 adults and 2 children. With a bathroom and separate shower room, the sitting room has French doors opening out to the patio with panoramic views over the Wiltshire Downs.
Puddings Barn is a one bedroom cottage, sleeping 2. Boasting a large private cottage garden, and a beautiful pewter frame king size bed.
Pump Cottage is a one bedroom cottage, sleeping 2, offering the flexibility of a super king size bed, that can be split to form a pair of single beds. Make a wish in the old well in the garden !
Merkins Farm is situated on the crest of the hill, and is surrounded by superb views from King Alfreds Tower at Stourhead to the White Horse at Cherhill, with Westbury White Horse somewhere in the middle !
Bradford Leigh is a peaceful rural hamlet on the outskirts of Bradford-On-Avon. The Plough is the local pub and restaurant, and is only a 5 minute walk down the lane. Serving delicious lunches and evening meals. Families are welcomed.
Bradford-On-Avon is a picturesque Saxon Town, and recently provided the backdrop for the film ‘Creation’. The Tithe Barn, Kennet & Avon Canal and River Avon give visitors plenty to see and do. Bradford-On-Avon also boasts a wealth of restaurants and shops.
The local train station, just 1 mile from Merkins Farm provides a great link with Bath. Trains are every half hour, and the journey itself is only 12 minutes. Best of all, you can take in the picturesque Limpley Stoke Valley on the way !
Walkers can explore the beautiful countryside. The National Trusts Great Chalfield Manor, the setting of ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ and ‘Tess of The D’Urbevilles’ is within easy walking distance, across the fields. As is The Gardens in Holt, another National Trust property.
Cyclists will find the Wiltshire Cycle Route literally on the doorstep! The Kennet & Avon Canal is another favourite amongst cyclists. From here you can cycle to Bath or the famous Caen Hill Locks in Devizes.
Reservations are accepted on the following terms;
1 For advanced reservations a deposit is required to secure the booking. Full payment will be due 6 weeks prior to arrival.
2 For reservations made less than 6 weeks before the arrival date, the total amount is due.
3 Deposits are non-refundable, unless we can re-let the property. If we can re-let the property, for the full term of your stay, we will refund your deposit and balance, minus a £20.00 administration charge. We recommend that you take out Holiday Cancellation Insurance.
4 Cottages are available from 3 pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
5 Only members of your own party can occupy the cottage(s).
6 The cottages are to be kept in good order, and due care is to be taken with fixtures and fittings. The cottage(s) are to be left in the same condition at the end of the stay, as they were found at the beginning.
7 Any damage or breakages should be reported to the owners immediately. Breakages will be charged at the replacement cost.
8 Any complaints should be reported to the Proprietors immediately, and not left until the end of your stay.
9 We reserve the right to refuse any booking, and to cancel, in the unlikely event of the cottage(s) becoming unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, subject to a refund of any monies paid.
10 The cottages are strictly non smoking.
11 Due to the risk of fire, guests are not permitted to burn candles in the cottages.
12 Pets are not accepted.
13 Please remember, this is a working farm. Due care and good safety practices should be exercised whilst on the farm premises. Children, especially, should be supervised and remain the full responsibility of their parents at all times.
14 The proprietors cannot be held liable for any injury sustained, or any loss or damage, to any belongings during your stay.
15 We strongly advise that you take out holiday insurance.
